Have you ever been frustrated with the selection of supermarket flowers that fade after a day in a vase? Disappointed that the roses don’t smell like roses? Aghast at the eco-cost of plastic packaging and shipments from South Africa, Asia, Guatemala and other places from all over the world? Yeah, me too!

That’s why I started dreaming up a flower farm in the summer of 2024 — I wanted my own cutting garden with unique flowers that I love, and to be able to share them with my friends and greater community.

That summer, I grew a few zinnia plants and I have to say I got absolutely hooked. Making a bouquet with those few zinnias gave me that fuzzy feeling that you get when you know you wouldn’t want to be anywhere or anyone else but you in this moment right here. I then ordered hundreds of bulbs and started planting out the garden for the 2025 season.

Then, in March 2025, I had the opportunity of a lifetime when a friend decided to hire me as her floral wedding designer. Pictured left is her spring wedding bouquet featuring Flowerly’s tulips and daffodils.
